In last week’s edition of eFlyer, we erroneously reported that Japan Airlines decided to partner with Delta Air Lines/SkyTeam and leave American Airlines/oneworld. We regret this error. On Tuesday, Feb. 9, Japan Airlines announced its intention to remain in the oneworld alliance and develop its partnership with American Airlines. Japan Airlines and American Airlines will apply for antitrust immunity on trans-Pacific routes with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan. The joint business venture will enhance cooperation on routes and coordination of schedules and other activities, providing competitive products and high quality service.
